Cline Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel Lodi
When selecting fruit for its Lodi Zinfandel, Cline prioritises balance, early approachability, and refined structure. This vintage is sourced from 14 outstanding vineyards in the renowned Lodi region, where warm days and cool nights have been ripening grapes to ideal conditions for over a century.
The grapes are de-stemmed and gently crushed to retain fruit purity and minimise harsh tannin extraction. Fermentation takes place in closed stainless steel tanks at a moderately warm temperature using selected wine yeasts. Once the desired tannin profile is reached, the wine is racked two to three times before spending eight months in oak.
A portion of 35% new French oak with a medium toast is used, adding subtle vanilla and toast notes while allowing the vibrant fruit character to remain front and centre.
