Prunus Tinto
Dão is one of Portugal’s best-known and most prestigious appellations, having been formally set up in 1908 (long before the first French AOC). The reds offer firm, elegant structure and rich dark fruit, while the whites, which account for twenty percent of production, are delicate and floral, though with a satisfying underlying texture. This pair of wines, named after the family of stone fruit trees, have been selected as delightful modern examples of Dão, and offer outstanding value too.
Grapes – 80% Jaen , 10% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), 5% Alfrocheiro Preto, 5% Touriga Nacional
Region – Dao/Dão
Producer Profile
Natalia Jessa is emerging as a leading new figure in Portuguese wine, known for her energy, dedication, and growing influence in the industry. Originally from Poland and having lived in Ireland before settling in Porto, she has embraced Portugal’s wine culture and focused on the underserved market for affordable, high-quality wines.
