Giuseppe Cortese are undoubtedly one of the best estates in Piedmont. In the recent Decanter Piedmont Vintage Report Stephen Brook gave this wine 95 points, unsurpassed by any other wine in Piedmont and top of the Barbaresco tasting! The Barbera d’Alba is the entry level and is a great introduction to the estate and the Rabajà is a wonderful expression of Nebbiolo.

Barbaresco wine was born in the mid-1900s thanks to a great wine expert, Domizio Cavazza, who realized that the Nebbiolo grape variety, since always grown in the hills surrounding the town of Barbaresco but “ignored” by the local aristocrats, could actually give a wine having extraordinary qualities: great intensity and extreme elegance!
At a time when few believed in the high value of Barbaresco, young Giuseppe decided to back it…
