Domaine Meunier Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Champs Gains

Domaine Gaëlle et Jérôme Meunier’s Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is an elegant and vibrant white Burgundy, offering aromas of ripe melon, pineapple, white blossom and honeysuckle, underpinned by the hallmark minerality of this celebrated Premier Cru vineyard.

After successful careers in the wine industry—Jérôme managing a domaine and Gaëlle running a wine laboratory—the couple established their own estate, releasing their first vintage in 2007 from vineyards around Mercurey. In 2011, they expanded into Puligny-Montrachet, acquiring four hectares of vines from a retiring grower.

The fruit for this Premier Cru comes from the elevated Champ Gain vineyard, perched above the renowned Les Folatières. Early harvesting preserves the wine’s lively acidity and precise mineral character. Hand-picked grapes are gently pressed before the juice is settled and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new with a light toast. After 12 months of barrel ageing, the result is a beautifully balanced Chardonnay with succulent orchard and tropical fruit, bright acidity, refined oak influence and a long, fresh, mineral finish.
