Cantina La Guardiense I Classici Aglianico Sannio
La Guardiense is one of Campania’s leading cooperatives, based near Benevento and home to exceptional vineyards within the Sannio denomination. Named after the Samnites, the ancient warrior tribe who resisted Roman expansion for decades, the region has a rich history and a strong sense of identity.
The wines of La Guardiense are crafted with great precision and expertise, guided by winemaker Marco Giulioli and renowned consultant Riccardo Cotarella, whose experience and passion have helped shape the estate’s reputation for quality.
The Aglianico Sannio is predominantly matured in stainless steel, with around 20% aged in French oak to add depth and complexity. Rich and expressive, it reveals layers of ripe plum, dark cherry and warming spice, while retaining the variety’s hallmark freshness, structure and vibrant acidity. A refined and characterful expression of one of southern Italy’s most celebrated red grape varieties.
