Beaujolais Nouveau Day! Thurs 19th Nov, Quaff Hove and Brighton

Beaujolais Nouveau Day! Thurs 19th Nov, Quaff Hove and Brighton

Join us as we celebrate all things Beaujolais Nouveau!  On Thursday 19th November 2026, the world will once again raise a glass to the freshest, the fruitiest, and crucially the first, wine of the new vintage.

Born in the rolling hills of Beaujolais (between Mâcon and Lyon at the southern limit of Burgundy), this festival started as winemakers celebrated the end of harvest with a first taste of their brand-new wine. What began as a local tradition quickly went global – with races to deliver the first bottles by all sorts of methods, hot air balloon, Concorde, even elephants! Now tens of millions of bottles of the new Beaujolais Nouveau vintage are shipped worldwide each season, and crucially, quality has improved enormously over the years due to better techniques and our not-so-old friend, Global Warming.

We’ll have a bottle open on the barrel for you to taste the new vintage. Please form an orderly queue and then pile in!

This is a free tasting, no need to book.
