Chateau Clauzet 2017

Made from 40–50-year-old vines, the grapes are carefully hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermentation begins with a cold soak lasting 4–7 days, followed by a 21-day fermentation at 24°C, and is then extended with a further 14 days of maceration.

The wine is matured in French oak barrels, 46% of which are new, with ageing lasting 12 months for the Merlot and 14 months for the Cabernet varieties.

It opens with aromas of dark berries, cedar and a subtle hint of tobacco. On the palate, it is elegant and finely structured, showing polished tannins, well-integrated acidity and a long, refined finish.
