Some of you may have seen the flooding last summer in Ahr and Jean was very badly affected. Barrels were floating in floodwater up to three metres high.

Alexander Stodden wears the immense tradition with which he has been entrusted with quiet determination and fortitude. His late father, Gerd, was one of the very first Spätburgunder producers in Germany to give his wines some serious French oak treatment, a wine making philosophy that Alexander continues today. Exceptional location such as the Recher Herrenberg are a gift of nature., even so careful pruning and green harvesting are essential to ensure low yields and good ripeness.
