Skillogalee Basket Pressed Shiraz
These low-yielding vineyards provide incredibly concentrated Shiraz. Fruit is vinified in open fermenters and then gently basket-pressed (hence the name) to create a wine that is fruit driven and concentrated with velvety tannins. Maturation takes place in a combination of French and American Oak Hogsheads which add considerably to the wine`s balance, character and complexity. There is a pronounced earthiness to this wine, aromas of blue fruits, leather and tobacco on the nose segue into a myriad of flavours on the palate – plum, blackberry, spearmint and dark chocolate – to name a few. There is a smoky persistence to the finish, both bold and refined.
