‘The name Herrenberg refers to the Lords of Saffenburg, to whose owned the village of Rech and who planted their vineyards in this prime location.

The vineyard is located below the rocky area of the Schwedenkopf. The southern part of the vineyard, opposite the ruins of Saffenburg, is terraced.
