The South African Case
September sees us travelling back and forth to London to visit important supplier trade tastings. We traipse around various venues, tasting hundreds of wines, to bring you what we think are wines which will fly this Autumn. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it…
With that in mind, we’ve revamped our South African range and added a great new array of wines to our portfolio. We’ve selected 6 of our favourite wines which highlight this exciting winemaking country. There is a classic MCC sparkle, a South African take on Champagne at a fraction of the price. There’s also a new, refreshingly crisp Sauvignon Blanc from Dornier up in Elgin, as well as an iconic Chenin Blanc from Zevenwacht.
On the red front, the Forager blend is a hearty red which will pair beautifully with autumnal stews. We’ve stocked the Here and There Malbec for a while now and it’s a lighter take on the more heavier Argentinian Malbec. Finally, Lanzerac Merlot, from the heart of Stellenbosch itself, is a rich, luscious red that is perfect for a night in on the sofa with a film.
