The Jubilee Case

When Her Majesty first came to the throne, there was only one vineyard planted for commercial purposes (Hambledon in 1951 in Surrey, for those of you interested).  Fast forward to today and we’re surrounded by vast swathes of successful wineries and vineyards.  How times have changed.

We’ve lined up a trio of delights to see in the Jubilee this weekend. It seems essential to have an English fizz, and who better than Court Garden, our favourite producer in Ditchling, whom many of you are already familiar.  We’ve also gone for Chateau l’Hospital, the Queen’s favourite claret (yet to be confirmed by Palace sources). This is a classy Bordeaux from Graves, a soft, classic red that oozes charm, perfect for the lunchtime BBQ. Finally, Whispering Angel have released a special one-off Platinum Jubilee edition of their delicious Provence Rosé to celebrate the occasion.68
