Beat the Taxman Case
In their infinite wisdom and kindness, our great leaders have upped the duty on all wine. Sweet things. It will come into effect from 1st of August and will change prices right across the board.
We suggest you get buying before the cost of your favourite wines increases. With this in mind we’ve put together a summery case that should cover all bases. Whites, pink and a spectrum of light to heavy reds ideal for helping you to put the future aside for a while and concentrate on enjoying the now.
As ever we’ve got you a proper discount, taking the box from £71 to a very acceptable £60.
Included:
Da Vero Organic Catarratto from Sicily; zingy, fresh and perfect for the returning hot sun
Ademan Adalia; a beautiful gently oaked Verdejo from Toro that will complement seafood or a chicken barbecue. Peach, citrus and an excellent depth of texture.
Pink from the South of France Piquepoul Noir Foncalieu; like a great crisp picpoul but pink and with hints of raspberry and strawberry. Wonderfully refreshing.
Pierre Chainier Pinot Noir, aka Baron de Poce. We don’t know why the titular baron was kicked out but Pierre is the same wine, well balanced with light juicy berries and a soft fresh finish.
Barao da Varzea do Douro, all the good Portuguese grapes in a well-rounded, fruit forward and easy drinking red.
Cuzo, Tinta da Toro a big chunky red ideal for smoky bbq foods. Lots of big black fruit flavours but with a wonderful freshness.
All the reds are worth popping in the fridge for half an hour before serving to bring out the best of their flavours in case of hot weather.
