Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles. Bread dough, ripe apple, floral/blossom notes, well rounded nose with a toasty base and sprightly citrus and apple top notes. Rich, lovely around the mouth and well balanced. Citrus leaning towards tangerine with a toasty, nutty finish. A classic English sparkling wine.

The palate has a very fine, crisp, vibrant mousse, with lots of life and richness, masses of lime like fruit and that very delicately nutty and spicy background. The Prosecco Frizzante is semi-sparkling, light in alcohol and wonderfully fresh with a light apple and raspberry flavour. It is ideal for parties. Brothers Massimo and Paolo Marion run the winery at “Piave” that's been in the same family since 1891. Although certified organic, increasingly biodynamic practices have been taken up, whilst the winery is a spotless cathedral of tiles, tanks and beams.

The co-operative was established in 1937 in the heart of the Grand Cru village of St Mesnil Sur Oger in the Côtes des Blancs, which is widely regarded as the source of the region‘s best Chardonnay, much of which is used to produce Blanc de Blancs Champagnes. It has around 500 members who between them own around 305 hectares.

Oak-aged wines from the Estate's reserve cellars are added to the blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvée in the traditional Roederer style.
