The unwooded version is arguably a greater wine making challenge than the wooded version from this magical grape. In this quest for greater character and flavour balance, the unwooded Chardonnay carries extra responsibility relying entirely on the fruit alone to achieve best results.
This cracking Pinot Grigio from Romania knocks the socks off it's Italian counterparts! Rich ripe pear notes with layers of spice on the nose which open up into flavours of more pears supported by rich, crisp acidity.
This is a typical Pinot Grigio with a brilliant straw yellow colour, with a delicate bouquet of white acacia blossom, apricots and peaches, with more white orchard fruits on the palate. Natural acidity balances the subtle fruit flavours providing a gentle but lengthy finish. Ideal with hors d’oeuvres and fish dishes, in particular lobster and crabmeat. It also forms an excellent accompaniment for soups and white meats. Serve chilled at between 8°-10° C.
Casas del Bosque is located 70 km from Santiago, the capital of Chile, and 30 km from one of the principal ports of Chile, Valparaiso. It was conceived in 1993 to be a family boutique winery exclusively oriented to the production of high quality wines. This year Casa del Bosque continue with the most representative style of Casablanca wine, which offers the tropical and citrus notes that are classic from our property with a fresh touch and wealth of flavors. An exuberant love-at-first-sip wine.
Medium straw in colour. On the nose heady aromas of lemon tart and ripe pear combine effortlessly with rich notes of toasted almond. In the mouth quince and citrus dominate giving way to mealy yeasty notes and a rich, creamy finish. A lively, fresh acidity imparts excellent structure and length.
This small co-operative, founded in 1954, has 110 members and 200 hectares of vineyard in the Haut-Rhin, nine kilometres from Colmar. The 2009 Vintage was characterized by great aromatic finesse and very good levels of ripeness. Straw yellow in colour with silvery gold tints. The nose is very complex, with notes of exotic fruits (lychee, mango) and subtle aromas of white pepper...
A very elegant unoaked Chardonnay from the legendary producer Chateau Pesquie based in Ventoux in the Rhone Valley. A light and delicate wine that has lashes of rich, citrus and stone fruit that opens up into a creamy mouthfeel. A cracking wine to match with risotto or other cream based pasta dishes!
