Magpie The Beak Shiraz Grenache

Fresh red berry fruits on the nose, also morello cherry and plum with hints of pepper. It's a classic juicy Barossa style, warm berry fruits to the fore, fresh and lively with spice and white pepper and some subtle oak notes too. Good acidity keeeps it really well balanced and it's a big, yet balanced juicy mouthful and has the classic Beak hallmark of drinkability. Certainly the best Beak since the 2006 vintage.

Plenty of ripe spicy dark fruit on the nose with a lovely chocolate note.  On the palate, there's intensity but good freshness as well, with lots of velvety black fruit, dark chocolate and spice.  The tannins are really ripe and there's lots of juicy acidity, all very balanced.  The finish is smooth and lengthy.

Malbrontes

"...It's young ... very satisfying, well balanced, velvety fruit with just a lightly floral note...this one certainly seems a good buy to me  for drinking over the next year or two. It is even gentle enough to consider drinking without food."  Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, February 2010
